Jessica KowarschRelaxation Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Therapeutic Massage
Jess is on maternity leave during the month of June. She is scheduled to return part-time in July.
Jess is known as the Queen of Relaxation Massage and now is becoming known for her “lighter” deep tissue. She specializes in relieving aches, pains, and knots without the constant ‘kill-me-deep-pressure.’ Jess provides relief to a wide varitey of clientele. She reduces pain for those with fibromyalgia, and as one client with fibromyalgia stated, “I am able to do activities now that I used to love but had to give up due to the pain.” She de-stresses those who need relief from high-stress jobs, situations or moments in their life. Soon to be mothers find relief from the constant change in their bodies. And the elderly are able to move better, despite their aging bodies. She also enjoys helping those who may have had a bad experience with massage to overcome their fear that “all massages must be like that.” Listening and following though to what the client wants in their massage -whether it be presssure used or areas they want worked on the most- is what makes her sessions the most memorable.
Jess became a massage therapist for a very simple reason: She believes in a natural way of healing. “I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to do in college, even whenI was there going for my A.A. Degree. And then I stumbled upon an informational packet of the massaage therapy program and just knew this was it! Since then I have been happy to enjoy a career I love! I go home each day feeling as though I accomplished something great – helping others feel relief from pain and just be happy!” She also loves hearing how much she is helping people. As one client told her, “No other alternative therapy has helped me as much as this had. You found the source of the pain and it’s already going away with each treatment.”
Jess graduated from Lake Superior College’s massage therapy program in 2013, with 624 hours of specialized training. During her college career, she learned a variety of modalitites including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Geriatric, and Pregnancy. She was also introduced to Lymphatic Drainage and Sports Massage. In the future, she wants to learn a wider variety of techniques including Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, and Active Myofascial Release techniques.
Jess is proficient at Relaxation Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone Massage and Therapeutic Massage. She joined the team at Ohana Therapeutic Massage in January 2014.
